Quantum Optics and Optical Condensed Matter Physics (Bonn)

In the module Quantum Optics and Optical Condensed Matter Physics you will deepen previous knowledge and specialize in astrophysics, acquire and train new skills. This includes 

  • to acquire understanding of the physical and technological foundations of quantum optics and laser-based photonics,
  • to gain a deeper insight into the fundamental concepts of condensed matter physics, specifically by studying the interaction of light and matter,
  • to practically apply their acquired knowledge in research and development.

The module prepares for topics of current research in Quantum Optics and Optical Condensed Matter Physics and towards their own research activity within the master thesis. Lectures in the SAoS Quantum Optics can be chosen from a list here. For introduction, the lecture Quantum Optics, physics631, is strongly recommended.
