High Energy Particle Physics (Bonn)

In the module High Energy Particle Physics you will deepen previous knowledge and specialize in astrophysics, acquire and train new skills. This includes

  • to acquire a deep understanding of the fundamentals of particle physics, in particular concerning the Standard Model of particle physics and measurements that test this model,
  • to deepen understanding of experimental techniques in particle physics, from the basic physics of particle detectors to in depth treatment of particle physics at high energy colliders.

The module prepares for topics of current research in High Energy Particle Physics and towards their own research activity within the master thesis. Lectures in the SAoS High Energy Particle Physics can be chosen from a list here. For introduction, the lecture Particle Physics, physics611, is strongly recommended.
