The German Science Foundation (DFG) granted another 4 years of funding to the astrophysics Collaborative Research Centre 956 "Conditions and Impact of Star Formation - Astrophysics, Instrumentation and Laboratory Research". Together with the Argelander Institute for Astronomy of the University Bonn and the Max-Planck Institute for Radioastronomy, Bonn, the I. Institute of Physics of the University of Cologne will investigate the basic steps of the Cosmic Cycle and the cycle of star formation  from interstellar matter through the life and death of stars.
