Master of Science (until 2015)
Since winter semester 2015/2016 all beginners of the Master of Physics course in Cologne have to follow the new examination regulations. Students who started earlier may continue their studies following the old examination regulations described here.
The curriculum gives an overview over the master's course and describes the required lectures, lab courses, seminars etc.
With the increasing specialization during the phase of the Master studies, courses in two main areas of specialization will be taken. These subjects are oriented at the main research activities of the participating physics institute. One of the subjects will develop into the primary the other into the secondary area of specialization. As a rule, the primary area of specialization is also the basis for the M.Sc. thesis.
